Why Implants Are the Gold Standard of Tooth Replacement Options

  • Restore Form and Function

Implants replace missing teeth from root to crown, restoring natural strength, stability, and comfort so you can chew confidently and speak clearly without a slipping, uncomfortable denture.

  • Improve Bone Health

Dental implants are the only tooth replacement option that actively preserves jawbone density by stimulating bone tissue, helping to maintain your facial structure and long-term oral health.

  • Enjoy a Lifetime of Benefits

Made from durable titanium and cared for like natural teeth, implants are designed to last for decades with proper hygiene and regular dental checkups.

Dr. Saccoh Provides
Bone Grafting
to Prepare the Jaw for Implants

If you’ve experienced bone loss after losing a tooth, you may not have enough support for a dental implant right away. Bone grafting is a simple, effective way to rebuild lost tissue and create a stable foundation for long-term success.

Dr. Saccoh offers several types of bone grafts in-office, including socket preservation and ridge augmentation. He will evaluate your jaw using 3D imaging to determine the best approach and ensure your implant has the support it needs to last.

This preparatory step can add time to your treatment plan, but it dramatically improves outcomes and helps patients in Joppa and the greater Baltimore area qualify for the most advanced tooth replacement option available.

Start Your Smile Restoration Journey Today

If you’ve been living with missing teeth or uncomfortable dentures, now is the time to explore a more lasting, comfortable solution. Our affordable dental implants are designed to restore not only your smile, but your confidence, comfort, and ability to enjoy everyday life.

Whether you’re just starting to consider your options or have been researching dental implants, we’re here to guide you through the process with compassion and expertise. Dr. Saccoh is an experienced implant dentist near Baltimore who has helped patients across the region — including right here in Joppa — rebuild their smiles through personalized care and advanced techniques.

Your consultation is the first step. We’ll take the time to understand your goals, assess your candidacy, and explain your options clearly, including costs, financing, and treatment timelines.

How We Place Implants Get a Sense of the Treatment Process

A New Smile in a Few Appointments A Look at the Treatment Timeline

Prior to your implant surgery appointment, you will undergo a comprehensive oral exam at our Greater Baltimore, MD, dental office. Dr. Saccoh will use a 3D cone beam digital scanner to create a precise, customized implant placement plan based on your smile and oral health goals.

The dental implant process takes several months and two oral surgeries to complete. Once you've healed, you can enjoy a complete smile.
The dental implant process takes several months and two oral surgeries to complete. Once you've healed, you can enjoy a complete smile.

1st Appointment

After numbing anesthetic and (if needed) relaxing sedation are administered, Dr. Saccoh will make small incisions in your gums, through which the dental implants will be inserted into your jawbone.

Osseointegration

Over the next four to six months, your jawbone will heal and fuse to the implants, securely anchoring them in place.

2nd Appointment

Dr. Saccoh will attach connectors called abutments to the implants. This requires a second surgery. Calming oral sedation is available if you feel anxious.

Healing Period

Your gums will now heal around the abutments. This should take around two weeks.

3rd Appointment

Dr. Saccoh can now attach custom-built crowns, bridges, or dentures to your implants.

Experience a Renewed Self-Confidence

The Life-Changing Power of Implants

Dental implants do more than restore your smile — they help restore your sense of self. Many patients feel more comfortable speaking, smiling, and socializing after treatment, thanks to the security and natural look of their new teeth.

Implants eliminate the worry of slipping dentures or the need for adhesives. You can enjoy your favorite foods, speak clearly, and laugh freely, knowing your smile is both beautiful and dependable.

This confidence can impact every part of your life, from personal relationships to professional opportunities. With implant-supported restorations, you’re not just rebuilding your teeth — you’re reclaiming the freedom to be yourself, just like so many of our Baltimore patients have.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Implants

Is implant recovery painful?

A. It is normal to experience some discomfort the first few days following implant placement. However, over-the-counter pain medications, a soft diet to reduce irritation, and ice packs to reduce swelling should help ease the pain. Your dentist may also prescribe pain medications to help as well. We will provide you with all the information you need to make recovery as easy as possible. If you experience any troubling symptoms or pain that is not easily managed at home, please contact our Joppa dental practice so we can address your concerns promptly.

How long do implants last?

A. The implant and abutment used to secure your restoration to the implant are made of durable titanium. With proper care and maintenance, they are designed to last a lifetime. Your custom denture, crown, or bridge can last 15 years or more. However, that restoration will wear over time and eventually need to be replaced.

How do I care for my implant and restoration?

A. Your restoration will be secured to the implant so you will treat your new smile just like you would your natural teeth. Practice good oral hygiene by brushing twice daily and flossing at least once a day. It is also important to continue your regular dental exams and cleanings to ensure your new smile lasts for years to come.

I've been told I don't qualify for implants. Can you help me?

A. Yes. We offer comprehensive treatment options to restore your oral health and help you qualify for dental implant treatment. If you need a bone graft or sinus lift to qualify for implants, Dr. Saccoh can refer you to a trusted oral surgeon in the greater Baltimore area for treatment.

What is an abutment?

A. An abutment is a piece that is attached to the implant. The abutment allows your dentist to secure your custom crown, bridge, or denture to the dental implants.

Does dental insurance cover implants?

A. Dental insurance often does not cover dental implants. However, your insurance plan may cover other portions of your implant treatment, such as the restoration or preparatory treatments you may need. We will verify your coverage before your treatment begins to maximize your benefits and help you accurately plan and budget.

Will people be able to tell I have dental implants?

A. No. Once your restoration is placed, you will not be able to see the dental implant or abutment. Your new smile will look, feel, and function just like natural teeth, so others will not be able to tell you have implants.
