Dental Implants
Missing teeth can leave gaps in your smile, cause your jawbone to weaken, and make simple things like chewing and speaking difficult.
Dental implants replace missing tooth roots, improving jawbone health while supporting dental restorations like crowns and dentures.
Board-certified dentist Mohamed Saccoh can restore your smile and oral health with dental implants at his practice serving the greater Baltimore, MD, area.
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are strong titanium posts that are surgically inserted into your jawbone where natural teeth are missing. The titanium dental implants act as artificial tooth roots to which lifelike crowns, bridges, and dentures can be attached.
Dentistry professionals consider implants to be the best way to replace missing teeth because they provide support to the jawbone, prevent bone recession, and keep restorations like dentures securely in place.
Implants Can Address All Types of Tooth Loss
Dental Crowns
A dental crown paired with a titanium implant can replace a single missing tooth to restore your smile.
Dental Bridge
A dental bridge paired with dental implants can fill in the gaps if you have several consecutive missing teeth.
Dentures
Implant-supported dentures offer optimal stability for patients missing all of their natural teeth along one or both dental arches.
A New Smile Thanks to Dental Implants
Benefits of Dental Implants
Restore Smile Form and Function
After placing your implants, Dr. Saccoh will attach a lifelike dental restoration. This dental restoration is designed to renew your smile and boost your confidence. It can also make it easier to eat healthy foods like crunchy fruits and veggies.
Improve Bone Health
When natural teeth are missing, your jawbone can shrink and weaken. This can give your face a shrunken appearance. Implants encourage strong bone growth, and the attached restorations can make your face look full and healthy.
Long-Lasting Investment
If you maintain good oral hygiene and visit the dentist regularly, dental implants placed by Dr. Saccoh at his state-of-the-art Joppa, MD, dental practice can last for decades.
Dental Implants: "There's no better alternative to replace missing teeth."

Helping the Baltimore Area Smile
I have been going to FCI for the last three years. Dr. Saccoh has done a complete transformation of my smile. I have a million dollar smile today thanks to Dr. Saccoh. My new smile consists of several dental implants, as well as porcelain veneers. Dr. Saccoh does superb work. He is gentle and listened to all of my concerns. Everyone from Dr. Saccoh to the staff is amazing and personable. While at the front desk, Selema and Maria greet you as if you're family or an old friend. I HIGHLY recommend FCI; they are nothing short of 5 stars!!!!
View on GoogleI’ve been a patient at Aspen Dental for a while and was hesitant about trying a local dental office. After trying to book an appointment with Aspen for almost 2 months, I finally said enough and told them they just lost 2 customers. I have received multiple flyers from FCI Dental in the past and thought about giving them a shot. Needless to say, I was able to get an appointment within 2 weeks and I was really impressed with the staff and facility. They were very friendly and professional at the same time, my hygienist was very thorough and fast at the same time. They made me feel as if my time was very valuable and customer service was superior. Safe to say, my wife and daughter will also be going to FCI going forward.
View on GoogleFrequently Asked Questions About Dental Implants
Q. Is implant recovery painful?
A. It is normal to experience some discomfort the first few days following implant placement. However, over-the-counter pain medications, a soft diet to reduce irritation, and ice packs to reduce swelling should help ease the pain. Your dentist may also prescribe pain medications to help as well. We will provide you with all the information you need to make recovery as easy as possible. If you experience any troubling symptoms or pain that is not easily managed at home, please contact our Joppa dental practice so we can address your concerns promptly.
Q. How long do implants last?
A. The implant and abutment used to secure your restoration to the implant are made of durable titanium. With proper care and maintenance, they are designed to last a lifetime. Your custom denture, crown, or bridge can last 15 years or more. However, that restoration will wear over time and eventually need to be replaced.
Q. How do I care for my implant and restoration?
A. Your restoration will be secured to the implant so you will treat your new smile just like you would your natural teeth. Practice good oral hygiene by brushing twice daily and flossing at least once a day. It is also important to continue your regular dental exams and cleanings to ensure your new smile lasts for years to come.
Q. I have some oral health issues that disqualify me from implant treatment. Can you help me?
A. Yes. We offer comprehensive treatment options to restore your oral health and help you qualify for dental implant treatment. If you need a sinus lift to qualify for implant, Dr. Saccoh can refer you to a trusted oral surgeon for treatment.
Q. What is an abutment?
A. An abutment is a piece that is attached to the implant. The abutment allows your dentist to secure your custom crown, bridge, or denture to the dental implants.
Q. Does dental insurance cover dental implants?
A. Dental insurance often does not cover dental implants. However, your insurance plan may cover other portions of your implant treatment, such as the restoration or preparatory treatments you may need. We will verify your coverage before your treatment begins to maximize your benefits and help you accurately plan and budget.
Q. Will people be able to tell I have dental implants?
A. No. Once your restoration is placed, you will not be able to see the dental implant or abutment. Your new smile will look, feel, and function just like natural teeth, so others will not be able to tell you have implants.
